Cereal flakes are made from processing various grains such as wheat, oats, rye, corn, rice, and buckwheat. Through cooking and flattening, the kernels retain their original shape but acquire a crunchier texture. Flakes can be eaten as breakfast cereals, served with milk or yogurt and fruit, or used in the production of baked goods such as breadsticks, bread, and cookies. They are also used in packaging or the production of muesli and granola, providing an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, fiber, and B vitamins.
